Being a frontrunner in body grooming, it is normal for a brand like MANSCAPED to constantly be involved in showdowns.
While brands such as Philips fall short of taking the crown, alternative solutions such as MANSPOT can appear to be great candidates, but only if you’re under a budget.
The only exception appears to be Meridian Grooming, however, going toe-to-toe with MANSCAPED with ease for the crown.
It all starts with the flagship models of the two, The Lawn Mower 4.0, Lawn Mower 3.0 and The Original Body Trimmer by Meridian, three leading names when it comes to body grooming.
While each candidate carries their own personal records and promising attributes, the stakes remain quite high when MANSCAPED and Meridian are pitted against one another.
Additionally, if you’d like to know which one comes out on top between MANSCAPED and Meridian, as well as discover the areas that make them both a win-win scenario, this guide based on my experience and expertise should suffice!

The showdown of MANSCAPED and Meridian is a close one, truth be told, but only because of how good they are!
When push comes to shove, both MANSCAPED and Meridian set the bar for body grooming tools, manufacturing devices that prioritize not just the needs of users, but also the essentials that electric trimmers need.
While the previous segment merely provides a preview on the pair that represents MANSCAPED in this guide, and the sole frontrunner of the Meridian franchise, the following dives more into each attribute, followed with my two cents on every assessment.
Winner: MANSCAPED 4
Since the most important aspect of a body trimmer is the blade incorporated, it’s best if I get started with what matters first.
Close-up blades of Meridian and Lawn Mower 4.0 with anti-nick guard
MANSCAPED really hit the lottery by infusing their ceramic blade with SkinSafe technology; an attribute that is found on both the Lawn Mower 3.0 and 4.0. The ceramic blades are way different from the average stainless steel blade for hair, as SkinSafe technology has hypoallergenic qualities to reduce inflammation and the prominence of nicks.
When using MANSCAPED, getting injured isn’t an option. The ceramic blades don’t just glide through my scratch-prone skin without causing any nicks, but ensure safety by having an anti-nick guard around the base of the head.
Meridian isn’t bad, either. It has a high-quality ceramic blade, which is coated with an anti-nick guard. While not coded with the same software as MANSCAPED, this device of Meridian still feels quite soft and generous on my skin, providing a shave that is almost close, but not entirely hairless.
Design and Layout Bonuses
Winner: The Lawn Mower 4.0
The layout and button configuration of Meridian and MANSCAPED are quite similar, carrying the same components when placed next to one another at first.
Winner: Lawn Mower 4.0
The Lawn Mower 3.0 and Meridian feel surprisingly similar, featuring an ergonomic handle with rubber grip flooring.
Although both gadgets lack room for more control, the texture definitely allows tons of friction to prevent them from slipping out and taking fall damage.
The Lawn Mower 4.0 looks more like a concept in my eyes. It has a slender handle that resembles an hourglass, infused with plastic as opposed to rubber.
Though the handle fits perfectly between my palms, I prefer the rubber-based flooring of the Lawn Mower 3.0 and Meridian.
A minimal power button is what represents Meridian, Lawn Mower 3.0, and Lawn Mower 4.0. I personally am a big fan of how easy they look on the eyes, even more so when the device is as neutral-color-coded as the Lawn Mower 3.0 and 4.0
Battery Status Indicator
A battery status indicator also attaches itself to each model, which I think is extremely important during prolonged body grooming sessions.
The Lawn Mower 3.0 carries a stationary battery indicator, which only glows up when the battery is either low on charge, or completely drained. I wish MANSCAPED added more to that aspect, since a heads-up is always nice.
On the other hand, Meridian has a 3-LED system as the battery indicator, where each compartment represents the level of the battery. While the first bar fades when the battery drops from 100% to 70%, the one at the base shows up when the device is running on its final health bar.
While the Lawn Mower 3.0 contains a stationary front, the Lawn Mower 4.0 features a vertically placed battery status indicator, which looks more presentable than that of Meridian. It is quite bright, too, making it impossible to not keep track of the charge level of the body trimmer.
While the Meridian doesn’t have a built-in flashlight for tackling hairy issues in compact areas, both models of MANSCAPED carry a torch right underneath their shaving head.
I personally feel that the 3.0 is quite helpful when you’re shaving hard-to-reach areas around your privates, but also exposes one to injuries due to being based with a poor amount of brightness.
The 4.0 is much more equipped in this case, carrying a 4000k LED flashlight around the same area to glow even when the lights are off. For that reason and more, the 4.0 feels miles above the rest in this segment.
Perhaps what separates the Lawn Mower 4.0 from the other two is the new travel lock feature, which preserves the battery during tough times. Once you press the power button three times, the travel lock feature comes into full bloom.
In my opinion, this option is great if you travel frequently, as the program shuts down the chances of accidental power-ups. This not only reduces anxiety for me, but also preserves the battery life of the Lawn Mower 4.0
The weight often shapes the shaving experience, as heavier models are hard to move around in both an upward and downward motion. Having a device that is too light can also be a curse, since it can shave more hair than what’s necessary.
Meridian’s weightless nature definitely makes it the trimmer to beat in this scenario, offering tons of space and freedom for shaving against and towards the grain with notes of softness.
The Lawn Mower 3.0 provides the same feel, weighing in at 4.1 ounces as well. Therefore, if you feel that the Meridian doesn’t meet your stylistic requirements in some way, I hope you find an alternative in this body trimmer of MANSCAPED.
The 4.0 is a bit heavier than the other two candidates, despite offering more perks than setbacks. The weight difference is still quite subtle, however, especially once you get used to the weight and structure of the trimmer.
Ease Of Use
Due to weighing in at only 4 ounces, the Meridian feels like the most secure device when shaving, despite lacking SkinSafe technology. The dimensions are extremely compact, which enables me to easily change the motion of each stroke, and adjust directions with ease.
The Lawnmower 3.0 kind of mimics the same feel as the Meridian, which could be due to the fact that they weigh the same. While the blade feels safer on the Lawn Mower 3.0, navigation is just as seamless and comfortable if you’re picking between Meridian and Lawn Mower 3.0.
Battery Preservation: Charging cable vs. Wireless charging
Winner: Lawn Mower 4.0
Though all of them carry Li-Ion batteries to power up and get to work, each device recovers rather differently behind the scenes before suiting up for the next day.
The Meridian is powered by a cable, which, according to my experience, requires around 2 hours to reach a full battery life. This is a let down for me, especially when you take into account its battery life of 90 minutes.
With the help of an adaptor and a cable, the Lawn Mower 3.0 once again imitates Meridian, taking around 2 hours to refuel itself to the fullest. The device comes with a charging stand, though, which feels more like a souvenir than a tool for improving functionality.
Taking the cake once again is the Lawn Mower 4.0, which is powered by a top-notch charging station.
Serving looks isn’t the only thing the charging station does, as the dock also goes wireless when the Lawn Mower 4.0 is desperate for rejuvenation during travel. It is also quite compact, being an easy fit inside bags and suitcases.
Attachments And Additives
Winner: Lawn Mower 4.0
By the looks of it, Meridian really prioritizes convenience. It doesn’t only guarantee a comfortable shaving session with its build, but also provides 2 comb attachments in plastic wraps, just in case you feel like keeping some length around the area you’re shaving.
Attachments And Additives of Meridian
Alongside the attachments is a cleaning brush to eliminate pieces of hair stuck between the blade, and a charging cable.
Attachments And Additives of Lawn Mower 3.0
The Lawn Mower 3.0 offers a bit less in terms of comb guards but offers some extra perks, such as an adapter and a charging cable. While made of poor materials, the Lawn Mower 3.0 also has a charging dock, as stated in the previous segment.
Attachments And Additives of Lawn Mower 4.0
MANSCAPED once again has the edge over its competitor, carried yet again by the Lawn Mower 4.0 in this sequence. Not only does the Lawn Mower have 2 comb attachments that are just as promising as that of the Meridian, but it also has a cleaning brush, charging adapter, cable, and my favorite tool of them all, the wireless charging station!
Mutual Benefits Of Using Manscaped & Meridian’s: Why They’re Both Win-Win Brands!
Despite being rivals, MANSCAPED and Meridian have offer tons to celebrate over. The Lawn Mower 3.0, 4.0 share tons of common ground with Meridian’s trimmer.
Since you’ve already found what separates the brand, make things a little lighter by focusing on the mutual benefits of using MANSCAPED and Meridian!
The first positive that both grooming brands have in common is a good battery life, which feels incomplete without the Li-Ion battery engraved in each trimmer.
Regardless of which one you invest in, you can always count on the Lawn Mower 4.0 and 3.0 to provide you a runtime of 90 minutes. Although the former will help you with quick charging abilities, the latter will definitely provide you with enough gas in the tank to be equal to the Lawn Mower 4.0
Meridian’s trimmer is just as promising, comprising a 90-minute runtime with the help of its one-of-a-kind Li-Ion battery. Though the former two can be compelling for some of the additives, don’t forget to side with Meridian if you prefer lightweight and undersized devices.
Despite lacking SkinSafe technology, Meridian quickly bounces back in this bout against MANSCAPED by providing the same kind of blade system and type, which begins with the ceramic blade.
While the quality and performance of the blade is shaped by the technological means, MANSCAPED and Meridian allow their devices to carry a detachable blade, making all three of the candidates easy to clean, replace and look after.
For a neat freak like me, this attribute is like the sweetest tune, as it allows me to clean the motor of the blade with the cleaning brush, removing signs of residue.
A time-friendly and easygoing shaving experience
While the Lawn Mower 4.0 is heavier than the other two in terms of weight, all three of them allow seamless navigation, guaranteeing a time-friendly shave.
I assume the Li-Ion battery really plays a part here, as does the motor of each tool.
The fact that each of their blades is coated with anti-nick shaving properties and skin-friendly to a T also provides me with enough confidence to glide the device through my skin without feeling insecure about my vulnerable skin diseases.
Regardless of what they say, noise pollution really does hamper performance, even when you’re practising manscaping.
Powered on Lawn Mower 4.0
While grooming your privates in your own room is one way to cancel out the noise, the scenario might be tough to walk away from if the culprit is your trimmer.
Luckily, both MANSCAPED and Meridian generate trimmers with very low dB levels, promoting noiseless operation almost always. This might not be a benefit now, but it can easily allow you to generate proper trims without injuring yourself.
I love how both brands really prioritize not only technological attributes, but also focus on adding smaller upgrades to make the user experience convenient and reassuring.
Truth be told, dry shaving only makes sense if you’re just skin. However, if you’ve got some fur down there, or anywhere in your body, it should be mandatory to wash yourself and dampen the skin for a smooth grooming session.
Since showering and shaving go hand in hand, make use of the IPX waterproof housing of MANSCAPED and Meridian, both of which saved my time on multiple occasions. You may even obtain a quick maintenance shave by directly standing under the shower head too!
Don’t have enough time to clean the blade? No worries! Just run the device under your tap water to rejuvenate the blade and restore the hygiene of the trimmer. Be sure to not get carried away, though, as each device can only absorb water for 30 minutes.
Final Take: Manscaped Takes The Cake With The Lawn Mower 4.0 And Its Top-notch Features!
If you’ve read my guide, I’m sure you’re already aware of how obsessed I am with MANSCAPED and the Lawn Mower 4.0, which is undoubtedly the winner.
By providing blades that infused with SkinSafe technology, a charging station with wireless operation, and a flashlight that is as bright as it comes, MANSCAPED The Lawn Mower makes body grooming sessions easy for me and my sensitive skin. The best part is easily the travel lock feature, which preserves the energy of the trimmer.
The Lawn Mower 3.0 is also not bad, either, offering most of the technological means as the former. It just lacks some vitals, such as the charging station and the fravel lock feature, rendering it ineligible to come out on top.
If you’re working around a tight budget, though, Meridian should be the only pick to experiment with. It provides an unbeatable battery life, and is a small-sized device that allows close shaves with tons of handling.
