Among the very few electric foil shavers out there, Braun remains one of the ring leaders in the division, offering models that not only showcase how big of a difference a proper shave can make, but also candidates that are regarded as timeless investments.
While nothing compares to the Series 9 model of Braun, which is by far the best invention of the German appliance company, it is not the Series 8 model, but the Series 7 model that ends up being the runners’ up in my book.
Despite being at a disadvantage with its technological setbacks, the Series 7 is, in my opinion, much better than the Series 8 from a benefit-cost ratio. However, this remark only exists if you take into account the newer models; not the old ones compared previously.
Moving on, as opposed to the older generations of the Series 7, the newer versions, otherwise known as the 70-xxx models, are way better, from both a hardware and software perspective.
To learn just how adept the new 7 series companions are, indulge in this review of mine, solely based on the 7071CC model, and how well it compares to the original 7 models!

An Introduction To Braun Series 7: How It Holds Up Against The Predecessors
From a design perspective, finding it difficult to separate the trio of Braun Series 7, 8, and 9 is more common than you think. Truth be told, even I struggled to tell them apart initially, even more so with the newer models, which look virtually identical when pitted next to each other.
However, when compared to the previous generations involving the Series 6 and Series 5, the Series 7 is extremely admirable, reprising the staple chrome paint job of the Braun franchise, along with various technological upgrades. It also has a more flexible shaving head, alongside a better battery life for longer operation.
The Series 7, particularly those from the “70-xxx” collection is great value for money, if you ask me, carrying shaving properties that qualify Braun Series 7 as one of the best foil shavers in the business, especially for those with sensitive skin.
And though all the series 7 models carry an unassailable lead over their predecessors, there appears to be ongoing beef between the 70-xxx models, the upgrades, and the 7-xxxx models; the originators.
But before I unveil how the former bout shapes up, let me tell you more about all the variants under Braun Series 7 to make the whole ordeal easier.
An Overview Of The New Braun Series 7 Models
Until the very end of time, I will back Braun as one of the top grade electric shavers to ever exist. And though I’m a huge fan of their mission statement, as well as all the exceptional qualities found in their skin-friendly and hyper-effective foil shavers, understanding the variants they release with each collection is definitely a chore and a half.
It doesn’t get any easier with the Braun Series 7, so I’ll try to make this portion as easy as possible.
When the Series 7 was first released, Braun assigned each model with 7-xxx, where an increase in the second number denoted an upgraded version of the former.
The models were also assigned with letters, mostly involving the terms CS, CC, S, as well as alphabets that denoted the region each model caters to.
While models with CS (charging stand), CC (Clean & Charge Station), and S (solo), are still relevant terms adopted by the newer models, the “70-xxx” models, otherwise known as the 360 Flex Series models, come in 5 different variants.
And since I will base my review on the 7071Cc model, it would only be fair if I only stick to unveiling the relevant variants, which, in this case, are the “70-xxx” models. Nonetheless, if you can hardly stay in your seats, here’s a list that includes the candidates making up the new version of Braun Series 7:
- Braun 7027cs
- Braun 7020s
- Braun 7071Cc
- Braun 7075Cc
- Braun 7085 Cc
Please Note: Despite carrying the Cleaning and Charging station, the CC models remain different from one another, with each shaver offering different accessories to users.
Assessing What’s Inside The Box: The Unboxing Of Braun Series 7 (7071Cc)
The Braun Series 7 7071CC carries a slightly larger packaging than the average Braun Series 7, as the CC model carries a cleaning station, otherwise known as the SmartCare Center.
Apart from that, the experience of unboxing the Braun Series 7 isn’t any different from any other upgraded version of the Braun collection.
In addition to providing the upgraded Braun Series 7, 7071Cc, Braun provides a travel pouch with the system, made of velvet, comprising durable materials to render itself travel safe.
Alongside the new 4-in-1 SmartCare Center, Braun Series 7 also provides a cleaning fluid which is strictly used with the cartridge to clean the foil of the lean electric shaver after each use.
For deep cleaning, Braun also provides a cleaning brush, which works through the narrow gaps between the insides of the shaving elements, and the new Easyclick Precision trimmer, which I have covered in the performance portion of this guide.

Braun Series 7071CC: A Coverage Of Its Key Features
The first impression of Braun Series 7, particularly the new one, is astounding, which could have something to do with its price tag. That’s not the only thing that makes the new Braun Series 7 models so great, it seems, as there are tons of noteworthy attributes that secure a positive impression of this electric shaver, in addition to landing it a spot among the best Braun shavers.
Without further ado, here are the key features of Braun Series 7 and the 7071Cc model.
3 Shaving Elements: The Power Of Sensofoil Cassettes
The primary selling point is the 3-way foil system of the Braun Series 7, which might generate results that are a tad bit different from that provided by predecessors, but carry eerily similar housing attributes.
However, the Senso foils are a bit wider on the new Braun Series 7 models, opting to cover more circumference and provide all the perks of using electric shavers.
The Senso foils are based with hypoallergenic properties, and also prioritise skin safety by operating using clicky mechanics. Altogether, Senso foils assure protection, but can also give out a clean shave if you press the shaving head towards your skin.
The Middle Trimmer is said to chop down scruffy pieces of facial hair, while the MicroComb is believed to be crucial if all you need is a companion to attack the flat lying pieces all over your face.
A Dominant 360 Flex Head
To further ensure comfort, the new and improved Braun Series 7 carries an extremely agile flex head, moving in 4-different directions, covering a 360-degree angle.
This beats out the stiff shaving head found on the old version of Braun Series 7 in terms of flexibility, and is said to feel lighter on the skin.
However, if you’re eager to learn more about whether the 360 Flex Head leads to an improvement in shaving results, be sure to stick around until the end!
Auto Sense Technology
Another compelling feature that is found beyond the surface is Auto Sense technology, a software that basically adjusts to the beard density of the user.
To obtain the perfect shave with accurate results, Auto Sense technology has direct control over the cutting actions produced by the foil system.
Based on the thickness of one’s facial hair, the Braun Series 7 tends to either increase or decrease in terms of speed, mainly in hopes of avoiding razor burns and leaving behind signs of itchiness.
Ergonomic Handle With Soft Touch
Ditching colors like dark blue, the new models belonging to the Series 7 lean more towards a chrome paint job, which pairs exceptionally well with their new layout and design.
The new layout is what makes me a huge fan of this Braun model, formed with lightweight materials to be an easy fit in the hand.

What I also like is the curvy handle underneath the shaving head, coated with rubberized flooring, which secures a tight grip during use.
As opposed to the older versions, the newer models appear to be leaner and more comfortable, both of which I have discussed in the comparison segment of this guide.
Adding to the positive reception is the waterproof abilities of the new Braun Series 7, rendering them safe for wet as well as dry shaves!
The Supporting Cast: More Standout Features Of The Braun Series 7
If the former list of selling points belonging to the new Braun Series 7 models wasn’t enough, here are some more attributes which I believe make the new version of Braun Series 7 one of the best electric shavers on the market at the moment!
A Brand New LED Display
In my opinion, adding a battery indicator on the older Series 7 models was a poor idea given the inconvenience attached to the feature.
I’m much more comfortable with the blueprint of the new Braun Series 7 models, which carries not just a better layout, but also maximizes the impression with additives, one of which is an LED display.
Now, keep in mind that the Series 7 doesn’t have a percentage metre like the Series 9, but instead offers a beaming light in between the logo and model number of the shaver, which, in my eyes, is a delight for the eyes.
It is harder to understand, I agree, but it’s also one of the most visually-appealing qualities of the new Braun Series 7, being a special feature for those that prioritize looks on top of performance.
EasyClick Precision Trimmer For Added Detail
While I truly believe that Braun hit the jackpot with their Slide-out Precision Trimmers, I’d be lying if I were to ridicule the EasyClick precision trimmer provided with the new models of Braun, which also involves the Series 7, fortunately.
The EasyClick Precision trimmer might consume more time due to its inability of not being able to pop up whenever.
However, in contrast to the pop-up trimmer, the precision trimmer is a bit sturdy, despite being a tad bit wider, proving to be the perfect fit for those that need a small push through some detailing to improve their facial features!
A Multipurpose SmartCare Center
Although saved for last, I must say that the SmartCare Center provided with the 7071CC model is a plus and a half, especially when you learn more about its abilities.
It’s not just a device that takes care of the battery, no. Instead, it also takes care of the foil after each use, and does so by dusting out hair particles stuck inside each compartment of the shaving elements.
The SmartCare Center isn’t easy to travel with, and is prone to clogging. Nonetheless, it is definitely a great investment to make if you’re planning to use your Braun Series 7 for a long time.
As stated earlier, the accessories provided by each Braun shaver belonging to the Series 7 are shaped by the model number, along with the digits or letters they contain. Similarly, if you’re setting your sights towards one that provides a SmartCare Center, choose between one of the “Cc” models!
Reviewing The Battery Of 7071CC Model: Same Same, But Different
Although Braun is regarded as one of the most reputable brands in the grooming business next to Remington and Philips Norelco, the German brand with multiple noteworthy electric shavers is often ridiculed for one thing, and one thing only; it’s battery life.
That being said, both models belonging to the Series 7 collection reprise the same endurance as the Braun Series 6, which is probably one of the very few flaws that this cordless shaver with.
Runtime
Despite ditching various components of the original Braun Series 7 models, the 7071CC, belonging to the new wave of Braun Series 7, adopts the same Li-Ion battery of the Series 7 models, offering a runtime of 50 minutes,
While far from impressive in contrast to corded shavers, the endurance of the Braun Series 7 is better than it seems, especially when you compare it to the super-impressive Panasonic Arc 5.
Quick charging in just 5 minutes
Though Braun has shown zero interest in releasing a new patch for the modern-day Series 7 and its battery life, there is an Easter Egg that works as a consolation prize for Braun Series 7 users.
For emergencies, the 360 flex Series models belonging to Braun Series 7 are fused with quick charging abilities, which qualifies the battery to accommodate a full shaving session with just 5 minutes of charge.
I’m a huge fan of this perk, as what it has is a great way to maximize presentability and save time during rushed days.
Braun Series 7 (7071CC): The Measures I Took To Put It To The Test
Often, not taking the right measures before trying out a device can lead to an unpleasant outcome, irrespective of the kind of device being assessed.
Therefore, to leave no stones unturned, and establish fair rules for the Braun Series 7, I tried to make the right moves before making it my companion.
Since it is a foil shaver when the label is thrown out the window, I used the Braun Series 7, 7071CC on a stubble carrying 3mm length of hair; the norm for most foil shavers.
To find out all that happened during the assessment, move on to the next segment!
Performance Review Of Braun Series 7: My Experience With The 7071Cc Model
While there were a couple of hiccups along the way, the 7071Cc model, one of the leading representatives of the 360 Flex Series 7 collection, was a breeze to use overall.
What I like
- Auto Sense technology is superb at providing skin safety
- Shaving head is generous and flexible
- Lightweight device is easy to navigate
What I dislike
- The shaving elements lack speed
The upgrades definitely seemed like a bargain based on the price I had to pay, working together to generate a safer shave than most foil shavers out there.
To learn more about why I believe that the new Series 7 models of Braun are some of the optimal foil shavers to lean on, and the categories I documented to assess my shaving experience with the Braun 7071 Cc, slide through to the immediate segment!
Quality Of Results
With an adaptive system in Auto Sense technology, the Braun Series 7 caught me by surprise, offering different speed settings when dealing with different areas of my face.
And though I still am amazed at how responsive the shaving elements are to change with the help of the sensor, I can’t say that the quality of shave is anything out of the ordinary, unless the skin is stretched out manually.
The results are clean, nonetheless, but not exactly as polished as the appearance one would get when using a traditional razor, of course.
I still am a fan of the shaving elements, though, since the new Series 7 model shaves generously on the skin. To find out how well the new shaving elements compare to the old ones, hop to the comparison section of this guide.
Shaving Comfort: Navigation Provided By The New Series 7
Despite being a let down with its shaving quality, the ease of navigation provided by the shaving system is definitely a highlight of the Braun Series 7, 7071Cc model.
The reason behind it? The 360-Flex Head.
While we’re on the record, let me tell you that this Braun model isn’t the fastest at generating close shaves, and struggles as much as any foil shaver when tackling outgrown hair.
Nonetheless, in times of need, it can still be a great gadget to keep as a last resort to these 5 close-shaving gadgets!
That said, the 360-Flex Head moves like butter, and provides a soft touch, despite trimming down an admirable amount of hair.
Of course, once again, the convenience of the lightweight ergonomics, and the perks of having Auto Sense technology further made it possible for the Braun Series 7 to fetch me a comfort-first, skin-safe shaving experience, while the operation of the foil system chopped up hair without making tons of contact with my skin.
Since my stubble was short to begin with, I believe it was easier for the Braun Series 7071Cc model to adjust to the beard length.
However, if you’re planning to shave a lengthier size, consider either trimming it down or pressing the device towards your skin.
Ergonomics: From A Design Standpoint
If I were to say that the Braun Series 7 provides a much better user experience than frontrunners like Braun Series 9, would you believe me?
Whether you believe it or not, I stand by my previous remark.
Sure, the classic bulky build with durable materials is something that I adore of the Braun Series 9. But what I love about the new Series 7 is its curvy build, which is coated in rubber for comfort, amounting to a feather in terms of feel.
In comparison, the device is also slimmer or leaner, clinching the perfect grip around my palms, which really made a difference in the overall experience I had when putting the Braun Series 7 to the test. With these perks, the Braun Series 7 feels like the better fit for elders.
As stated earlier, I love the status bar of the device, which is more sophisticated than the numbers displayed by the Series 9 models. Being one of the lightest models among the Braun models, the 7071Cc is an ultimate hack for flexible navigation.
Wet And Dry Use
Now it is true that most foil shavers are equipped for both wet and dry shaving, carrying very few models that only excel when the hair is dry. The Series 7, 7071Cc covers both marvellously, it seems, generating ideal results nonetheless.
The foil system does struggle to generate hairless results, but feels extremely comfortable, irrespective of the method followed. The foil system feels extremely lenient, too, even more so since the device adapts to my beard density.
If I were to pick one of the two, I’d choose wet shaving with the Braun Series 7, 7071Cc. It has nothing to do with it being a waterproof shaver, though, rather my skin type, which has always been prone to damage.
I’d suggest those with sensitive skin use the wet shaving abilities of the Braun Series 7, as doing so establishes a new form of protection.
Moreover, for a more hands on approach to using foil shavers as excellent as the Braun Series 7, be sure to adopt the right shaving technique!
Sound Check
To many, even someone as decorated in the grooming scene as myself, noise pollution is an instant turn-off. In fact, if a device is loud beyond my expectations, I often wear earplugs to block out the noise and get back to my review.
With the former in mind, let me tell you that the Braun Series 7, particularly the new model of 7071Cc, is neither loud, nor quiet.
At its peak, the device generates a dB level of 84, being slightly louder than the average foil shaver.
On a separate note, if you feel that your Braun Series 7 is buzzing harder than ever, generating more sound than usual, check in on your shaving head. A foil shaver as crafty as Braun Series 7 only generates noise when the shaving head is either improperly attached or needs thorough cleaning.
New Braun Series 7 Model Comparison: 7020s vs. 7027cs vs. 7071CC vs. 7075CC vs. 7085CC
Truth be told, each variant among the new models of Braun Series 7 carries minor, and not so consequential differences to separate one from the other. However the 7071CC remains my pick, putting up a great fight against the rest.
Although the models generate identical results and the older model is the better substitute of neck shavers, the 7071CC has the upper hand over the 7027 cs by providing a charging station as opposed to the charging stand provided by the latter.
Against the 7020s, the 7071CC takes an unassailable lead, as the s model only provides a charging adaptor and a leather case.
Truth be told, the 7075CC does find an added selling point with provided comb guards, but the 7071CC prevails by offering the same performance at a lower cost.
Same could be said about the 7085CC, which provides 4 new stubble trimmers alongside the 5 previously-mentioned comb guards, but loses out to the 7071CC due to being not only more pricey than the previous model, but also more expensive than the Braun Series 9 Sport.
Maintenance Of Braun Series 7: A Two-way Street To Cleaning The Device
Since foil shavers, much like rotary shavers, trap hair for a living, the amount of residue within the hardware is insane, to say the least. The new Braun Series 7 isn’t any different, it seems, and accumulates tons of hair when shaving, which could hamper the performance if left unnoticed.
Below are two ways through which you may clean the Braun Series 7 shaver to the max, leaving behind zero setbacks for the next session.
While one follows a mechanical approach, I’ve also added a manual procedure to maintaining the Braun Series 7, hoping to make it useful for those preferring a more proactive approach.
Using the SmartCare Center
Although I’m completely in favor of those who would much rather invest in an S model from the new Braun Series 7 variants, I also believe that saving up for a CC model is much better in the long run, as the SmartCare Center definitely reduces from one’s plate heftily.
That being said, if you’ve got the leaner version of the SmartCare Center with your Braun Series 7 model, utilize the tool to keep your foil shaver as fresh as possible.
Simply flip your device upside down, before locking the 360-Flex Head at the base of the station. Once the device clenches a tight hold onto the cleaning system, power your device on and let your Braun shaver sit for 5 minutes through cleaning and rehydration.
On a separate note, if your system is struggling to clean your Braun Series 7, it could denote an issue within the cartridge used for the cleaning fluid. I often replace the blade every 3 months, which increases in duration when I don’t use the shaver as much.
A more hands-on method
If you either ditched the whole concept of getting the SmartCare Center or simply prefer to ensure thorough cleaning, there’s a great procedure that may serve as an alternative way to look after your Braun Series 7 after each shave.
Upon concluding your shaving session, detach the foil system of the Braun Series 7. Once opened up, use the cleaning brush they provide to clean each opening on the foil system for a rigorous clean-up.
With the brush, scraping deep over the surface is a good way to ensure squeaky clean results. Don’t dig into the motor, however, as the springs are extremely susceptible to damage.
To wipe away any form of retained build-up, I often use some soap to clean the foil system of my Braun Series 7, which is as effective as the cleaning fluid provided by the SmartCare Center.
Furthermore, to give your Braun Series 7 a head start for the next shaving session, try using lube underneath the Senso foils and the supporting shaving elements, which is something I often use.
New Vs. Old: How The 7071CC Compares To The Older Generations Of Series 7
Welcome to the second half of this guide, which compares the new Braun Series 7 model to the original model for some drama, and loads of superior knowledge.
When push comes to shove, despite being years apart, the old Braun Series 7 appears to have what it takes to provide a similar outcome, if not, better results than the new Braun Series 7, which is disheartening if you’re setting your sights towards the new Braun Series 7 as opposed to withholding your savings for a budget-friendly companion.
However, with a technical edge over the predecessor, as well as a better design, the new Braun Series 7 puts up a great fight, scoring knockdowns along the way.
To learn all about how the new Braun Series 7 models respond to and take the lead against the old Braun Series 7 models, be sure to read through the pointes in the upcoming segments.
Shaving Quality
Alright, I’ll cut to the chase here; if you’re hoping to find an improvement in the shaving results, betting on either generation should suffice.
This is because, despite being curated with completely different mechanics than the speed settings provided by the 7 models, the 7071 shares the same shaving elements as opposed to the predecessor.
The plastic material of the new 360-flex head doesn’t do the 2020 models any favor, as the foil hardly brings a change in the results. In fact, if I were to pursue a closer shave, I’d much rather settle for the metal-based foil featured on the original Braun Series 7 variants.
In hindsight, despite lacking flexibility, the 2-D flex head of Braun Series 7 also feels sturdier than the 360-flex system attached to the 7071 model, anticipating a closer shave than the latter.
However, AutoSense technology is surely a game changer, despite lacking the ability to generate better results. It ensures skin-safety, which I believe is extremely reassuring for me and my sensitive skin.
Having a 360-flex head is also a plus in this regard, since the 4-directional head basically covers more area without digging too deep onto the surface of the skin, making the 7071 model of the new Braun Series 7 a great prospect.
In spite of what they say, I still think that 7071 has the better tools in the long run, as it can generate admirable results without compromising skin health.
Final Take: A draw between new Braun Series 7 and old Braun Series 7
Closeness
The script appears to be flipped when both generations are inspected for the shaving-closeness they bring about, which is when the old version belonging to the Series 7 takes the cake.
Although open to change, my current take supports the metal-based foil system found on the previous Braun Series 7 models.
I admit that the plastic flooring of the new foil system feels more comfortable on the skin, and is the better pick for avoiding injuries. However, what really refrains the 70-xxx models from generating a close shave is AutoSense technology, as it never guarantees the same speed.
The unique shaving experience found on AutoSense technology is quite fun, truth be told. However, at the end of the day, it also limits the Braun Series 7’s motor and foil system from running at full speed.
The mechanics in the shaving elements of the older versions are way less complex overall when compared to the new Braun Series 7, which aims to please with ease. With a few clicks, the foil shaver does everything within its abilities to generate a closer and more precise shave.
Upon further inspection, 2-way movement of the foil system when combined with the max speed setting of the original 7 Series models is much more superior in creating clean shaves than the sensor incorporated in the 70-xxx candidates. And while the predecessor walks away the winner in terms of closeness, I’d still suggest the successor as the ideal shaver for coarse hair, mainly due to its concern for safety.
Final Take: Original Braun Series 7 is better at providing close shaves, while newer models establish a balance between closeness and safety.
Build And Ergonomic Properties
When all is said and done, the element that gives the newer models of Braun Series 7 the upper hand over the originators is their housing properties, shaped by their build compartments, and ergonomics.
Both the original models as well as the new models are quite exceptional when it comes to handling. However, what the former lacks is a compartment for grip control, which is what the latter exploits to have the edge.
The chunkier build doesn’t feel any less reliable in my eyes when taking fall damage is on the agenda. However, I’m more inclined towards the leaner silhouettes of the new Braun Series 7, which provides comfort like no other.
A tapered shape seems to make an appearance in the mid-section of the new model, which is excellent if you’re not too good at navigating your shaver.
It accommodates my palms perfectly, as opposed to the chunkier build of the original Braun Series 7, which is a bit backdated in my eyes.
Another important aspect that gives the new Series 7 an astonishing lead lies within its mass, which is significantly lighter than the materials incorporated in the older models. And though the difference is more noticeable in theory than in practice, it is believed that the new Series 7 is 30 ounces lighter!
While the battery life remains the same, the status indicator used in the new model is not only more presentable, but also more accessible than that of the old Braun Series 7. The cleaning indicators are a plus, especially for newbies seeking a beginner-friendly electric shaver.
The beaming light acting as the battery indicator of the “70-xxx” models isn’t any better than the percentage meter of the Series 9, but much better than the one added to the previous version.
This element isn’t as pivotal, however, so don’t hesitate to let your preferences shape up the decision making.
And though the shaving elements (mentioned previously) of the original Braun Series models are much more effective, the housing of the “70-xxx” are more convenient to adapt to, with new additives on the hardware that makes the new models more convenient to use on the regular.
Final Take: New Braun Series 7 provides a much better shaving experience with its technological advancements and ergonomic housing.
Adaptation To Wet And Dry Shaves
The new models are equipped with foil systems that are great for both wet and dry shaves. Given the presence of Auto Sense technology, the new Braun Series 7 models are also better at ensuring safety, even when used with agents like shaving foam.
Old generations struggle immensely when wet shaving, however. In fact, when putting it to the test, I noticed how painful it was to use the old version of Braun Series 7 for a wet shave. The results were also inefficient, since the metal-based shaving elements struggled to accumulate pieces of hair.
It’s not all that bad, though, since the old version excels in dry shaves, generating closer results than the foil system of the new model.
Nonetheless, if I were to sum it up, I’d suggest you stick to the old one for dry shaves, and give the new model a chance if you have sensitive skin.
Final Take: Original Braun Series 7 is better at dry shaves, while the new Braun Series 7 provides better wet shaves.
Cleaning Procedure
Both versions come with cleaning stations, although the new model carries a brand new 4-in-1 SmartCare Center that cleans, rehydrates, and replenishes the Braun shaver after each use.
And though the dissimilarity when cleaning both the new and old models is minimal, I believe it’s more enjoyable to manually clean the older version.
Sure, the shaving head as well as the ejection system of the new Braun Series 7 is clean, and easy. However, I’d much rather settle for the push button attached to the shaving head of the old Braun Series 7.
Final Take: New Braun Series 7 is better with its SmartCare Center, but manual cleaning is easier with the old Braun Series 7 due to its hardware perks.
Bottom Line: The New Braun Model 7 Isn’t Far Off From The Old Version
Despite blowing me away with its housing properties and offering a more enticing shaving experience in terms of comfort, the new Braun Series 7 model isn’t miles ahead of the old Braun Series 7 collection.
The new Braun model makes extra consideration for those with sensitive skin, evident in its hyper-friendly shaving elements, fused with a more flexible head, a shaving sensor that adjusts to one’s facial hair type, and a lightweight build that delivers the easygoing navigation almost always. It also makes things easier with the SmartCare Center, assigned to make the cleaning element easier.
However, personally, I believe that, despite having backdated software and not-so-aesthetic hardware, the old Braun Series 7 models are better at providing closer shaves, with a stiff shaving head, and speed settings that don’t adjust to one’s beard, but aim for hairless results.
Both are the same in terms of battery life, further tainting the impression of the newer model in the Braun Series 7 collection, giving the new model a slight, but exactly a convincing, lead over the old Braun Series 7 model.
Renewing The Foil System: How To Replace The Head Of Braun Series 7
Everything comes to an end. Similarly, when using a foil shaver, it is completely normal for a device to decline from a performance standpoint, even for an excellent performer like the new collection of Braun Series 7. That’s when changing the blades is a necessity.
While I am more fond of the button system that the older versions belonging to Braun Series 7 carry, removing the shaving head of the newer models appears to be just as easy.
Underneath the base of the foil, tucked in between the 360-flex system is an engraved compartment, which is mainly used to remove the shaving head of the Braun Series 7, 7071CC.
While subjective, I often squeeze my thumb in between the compartment and flick the base to remove the shaving head.

Now that I’ve unveiled all the primary components of this guide that features an exclusive coverage of the Braun Series 7071CC model and how it holds up against the rest of the variants belonging to the collection, here is an effective questionnaire ideal for tackling dilemmas and issues faced when using Braun Series 7 and its newer models!
Q: How different is the 7071cc model from the original version?
Ans: Apart from changes within the design, the 7071CC model, representing the upgraded 7 Series of Braun, appears to be miles ahead of models from previous generations with its technological advancements; not so much with its shaving capabilities.
Nonetheless, while the predecessors are better for those seeking razor-like results, I believe that the 7071CC model from the newer versions of Series 7 is way better in the grand scheme of things, offering impressive results as well as skin-safe use with AutoSense technology, a newfound 360-flex head, and a rubberized grip around the handle!
Q: Does the Braun Series 7 accommodate close-shaves?
Ans: Though the shaving elements of Series 7 struggle to put up a credible fight when the Series 7 is pitted against Series 9, Braun Series 7 shaves extremely close, when push comes to shove.
As always, what matters most is the technique, so be sure to hold your electric shaver in a 90-degree angle for a close shave. On certain occasions, stretching the skin manually can be helpful.
Q: Is Braun Series 7 good at body grooming?
Ans: While foil shavers need some extra assistance to generate results like body trimmers, you may very well use your Braun Series 7 model as an all-in-one body groomer and face shaver, finding ease in its hypoallergenic and hyper sensitive foil system. Just avoid the privates, since the foil might fail to shave close.
That being said, if you’re seeking a body trimmer, give this list of mine a view. Additionally, to establish a closer shave around the privates, check out my coverage of the best electric ball trimmers of this day and age!
Q: Why is my Braun Series 7 underperforming?
Ans: If you’ve recently noticed a decline in the performance of your Braun Series 7 model, the leading issue could have something to do with the foil system. Cleaning the cassette or rinsing it may be a viable option, but replacing it could also be mandatory if the mishaps are regular.
On the other hand, if nothing seems to be wrong with the hardware, the root of the issue might be the software. If possible, visit your nearest Braun service center to replace your electric shaver. Utilize the given warranty, which lasts for 2 years after the date of purchase.
Final Takeaway
Though the new Braun Series 7 model creates a stronger first impression with a new ergonomic design carrying a no-slip grip and a brand new status bar, Auto Sense technology that guarantees a unique shaving experience by adapting to one’s beard density, and a brand new foil system that is wider with more movement, it appears to fall short of being better than the previous Braun Series 7.
In fact, if you already have the old version of the Series 7 in your cabinet, you may want to hold onto it for a little longer if the new Braun Series 7 is your desired replacement, as shaving results are closer with the former. The battery life isn’t any different, while the ejection maneuver of the previous Braun Series 7 feels miles easier to execute on the daily.
That being said, in short, the old Braun Series 7 will have you sorted if you know your way around an electric shaver, carrying enough essentials that always ensures a close shave.
However, if you’re new, put your money on the new Braun Series 7 model, particularly the 7071Cc model, which I believe will make your experience easier with its shaving sensor, rubberized ergonomic design, and ease your skin with the new 360 flex head!
